5 Hallloween Costumes I Wish I Would Have Thought of Earlier

In no particular order:

#1. Dr. Horrible

If you don't know who he is, watch this RIGHT NOW, followed by this and this.

Why Dr. Horrible? Because no mad scientist holds a freeze ray on this diabolical villain, and nothing is more suitable for Halloween than the Evil League of Evil.

Plus, it's perfect for me. It speaks to both my Halloween and my Joss obsessions. And there may be a tad of a love for all things Neil Patrick Harris (and Nathan Fillion) thrown in there too.

#2 Jareth

You remind me of the babe! 'Nuff said.

Okay, not 'nuff said. I shouldn't say that I wish I would have thought of this earlier because, as many people known, I have long obsessed about dressing up in the matrimonial and child wielding future as Sara with a Jareth husband and Toby child. However, I could very well have pulled of Jareth this year, had I, you know, thought about it.

#3 This lady

I have no idea who/what she is, but I found this picture on the internet, and long desperately to replicate this look.

#4 Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Only #4 on the list because I wanted to avoid all my Jossness being bunched up at the top of the list.

Why not dress up as my favorite TV character who people say I look like anyway? Because I didn't think of it early enough.

And why is Buffy so awesome? Need you even ask? Well here is just one reason:

#5 Sexy Freddy Kruger

Ha ha, I know, I know, putting "sexy" before something does not make it a good costume. In fact, it usually makes it a crappy costume. But opening up the possibility of this character as a Halloween costume to women in a fitted mini dress? Good costume. Though I would, of course, not wear it as depicted in this picture. Paired with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans, and some scary makeup, and this costume is top notch.

And, the idea of Freddy Kruger being made into a sexy lady costume...HILARIOUS!

Halloween Treats

We all know I love Halloween, we all know I love treats, and if you don't know already, you should fully educate yourself on how much I love Halloween treats.

Crystal sent me most of these, and I found a few myself, but what they all have in common is that I want to plunge them past my teeth like a battering ram. I wish I could copy and paste an embed code for these directly into my mouth.

On a separate note, I've felt like I've been talking with an unintentional lisp today. Totally weird, and I don't know if I really am, but when I think of myself saying something, it is with a lisp. Explanation? I have none. Unless it has to do with my Halloween costume(s), though I have never known Alice in Wonderland or mummies to have lisps.

Halloween

The hard drive on my Mac crashed, it's snowing, and all forces seem to be trying to stifle Halloween excitement. Is it working? I hope not!

And yet, the feasibility of my costume is in question, I have no Halloween playlist to blast (bc of the hard drive problem), and I have been struggling to keep up on my Halloween blog.

The solutions? I guess I'll just have to listen to Halloween music on Youtube as much as I can from work and other people's computers.

And I'll have to look for more inspiration for my mummy costume. I did a google image search and found these results:

None of which were really the look I was going for, but since I am unable to get my costume off once it is on, I'm not sure my costume is really what I was looking for either. Also, I'm having a hard time deciding between Egyptian-like makeup, or "dead things, Mikey, dead things"-like makeup. Any thoughts?

And lastly, the biggest and most undecided decision of all...

Moving HallowQueen's Bipety Bopety Blog to here, like in a sidebar deal and occasional Halloween-inspired posts throughout the year. I mean, unicorns and Halloween totally go together, right? I just don't know. I may need to let Halloween pass, when I feel less pressed to post oodles of Halloween stuff (which I have successfully slacked off in doing) and all will be well over there.

Sigh.

But, on a lighter, more Halloween-fantastic note, last night's episode of Castle was amazing, Halloween fun, and certainly played to the Joss fans out there. Check it out if you wish.

Remember When I Went to Yellowstone?

And it was freezing cold?  Well, I'm just now getting around to uploading some pictures from that.  Enjoy!

I Got a New Camera

...and I'm still learning how to use it.  But it has been oh-so-nice to have a camera with a working screen and viewfinder so that I can actually take pictures of what I want to take pictures of without people's heads being cut off, etc.

And it has a killer zoom.

And focuses all close-up like.

And takes panoramics.

Oh how I love you, little camera!

Ahhh, PIcasa

I downloaded Picasa, finally, after hearing about it from EVERYONE for SO LONG. And, as I suspected, it's basic photo editing is no better than what I already have, but, it does do collages, which we all know are oh-so-popular in the bloggetysphere. And so, without further ado, here is my first collage:

Inside All of Us aka There's Always Room for a Unicorn

Many thanks to Jessica for sending this trailer my way! There are too many amazing things about it, I can't even list them all, but here are three:

1.Poop
2.The music
3. UNICORN (and unicorn poop)

If you don't know what this is spoofing - though it's funny enough on it's own - check out the original trailer.

Creepy Carnival Birthday Party

So I have the awesomest friends in the whole world. Yes, yes I do.

This last weekend, they threw me an incredible birthday party...

A CREEPY CARNIVAL BIRTHDAY PARTY

at that!

Here are a handful of pictures that my sister took. Take note of the games, the costumes, the carnival food, and

HOLY CRAP THE MOST AMAZING CAKE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!

Honestly, I have no idea how long it took Laura and Jaylyn (thanks guys, I love you!) to make it. But I know it involved painting colored candy melts into a mold and then somehow baking a cake inside of that.

AND DID YOU SEE THAT IT HAS UNICORNS?

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Among other amazingness was a

cotton candy bouquet

and nachos

and popcorn

and fortune telling

and creepy dolls

and carmel apples

and taffy

and roasted corn

and potato salad

and costumes

and games

and fishing

and of course family and friends whom I LOVE!

I Love Where I Live

Seriously, I really do.

I love getting up in the morning to see a carpet of fall colors above me with the spooky clouds hanging lower and lower to pin the earth down and swallow mountainsides whole.

And I love my house. I love all the trees filling the space between us and the sidewalk, especially when the leaves have changed and turn the light coming through the windows so golden that I always think I must have left the lights on somewhere.

This is what it looked like this morning, when most of the leaves had already fallen from the trees and the rain came in, hanging heavy from the mass of clouds above.

Soon I will post pictures of last week, when all that could be seen was a dense wall of gold and red and orange.

Is there honestly a prettier, cozier, more inspiring time than October?

Hello, Little Halloween Friend

Aw, look how cute you are, little ghostie. You're awfully adorable with your little google eyes, and cottony fluffiness, and...string.

Wait, wait, cotton on a string? Are you a tampon, sir? You are? Well goodness me. A Happy Halloween to you too, good sir.

Oh, and that's not all, you can make your very own tampon crafts with easy instructions from http://www.tamponcrafts.com/.

Your very own Christmas Tree topper, string (eh eh) of Christmas lights, turkey centerpiece are at your, uh, fingertips with easy-to-follow instructions.

What better way to personalize your holiday decor than with personal items?

In my opinion, the best tutorial on the site is on how to create your own - get your barf bags ready - Bloody Tampon Heart Earrings. Oh yes, yes, yes, it is true. I'll save you the image and let you look here if you really want to see them. These earrings "display both your romantic sentiments and your menstrual pride." I didn't know I had menstrual pride, but I guess I the best way to have menstrual pride is to hang it from your earlobes.

Someone's Been Crafting Again...

...it's me.  I worked on some pendants while at my cabin, and here they are:

Not all of them are done, but I'm working on figuring out what medium works best for sealing them.  They are all double-sided though, which I think is pretty awesome.

I'm Totally Crafty

Yes, yes, I am, and I am darn proud of it, darnit!

Here are a few things I've made recently! I love the baby onesies, and check out my Halloween blog for more fun Halloween crafts.

So I Went to the Fair Like a Month Ago

...and have yet to write a post on it. And I'm not really doing that now either, just because I'm lazy and i don't want to email all my pictures to myself from my phone, then save them to the desktop only to upload them here and ramble on about them. Nope, not going to do it.

I will, however, since it is the Halloween season, give you this little tid-bit:

So I don't actually know what this is. It was in the section of submitted knitted pieces, such as hats, scarves, mittens, etc. This appears to be either a headband, or the neck section off of a turtleneck sweater, but those are just guesses.

And AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! Cat fur exterior, and yes, cocker spaniel fur interior.

Don't ask me, because I have no idea.

I'd Like to Add Misogyn to that too.

So, since I don't like Twilight, I generally don't like Kristen Stewart. Sorry, aside from Twilight, I'm also just not a fan of excessive blinking.

But, I read this headline today and automatically thought, "good for her:"

Kristen Stewart: Twilight is all about dominance & masochism.

The entire interview isn't as Twilight-slamming as I had hoped for, but I'm glad someone-and someone so close to it- is recognizing how messed up and perverted those books are.

Woot woot for Kristen Stewart, who is FAR prettier when she wears makeup (unlike Robert Pattinson).
